Our conductor this week will be retired New London band director Ron Coberley. When he's not conducting, Ron plays trumpet in the band. Ron always plans an interesting program with both traditional and newly-published music included and this concert is no exception.
His selections include: Mr. Maestro March by Eric Osterling; Blue Tango by Leroy Anderson; Queen in Concert arranged by Jay Bocook including We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, and We are the Champions; Chant and Jubilo by W. Francis McBeth; American Big Top by Brian Balmages; Ask Not - a musical tribute to the life of JFK, by James Swearingen, narrated by Steve Hexom; A Tribute to Gershwin arranged by Jack Bullock including I Got Rhythm, 'S Wonderful, Embraceable You, Fascinating Rhythm, The Man I Love, But Not For Me, How Long Has This Been Going On, Oh Lady Be Good, Someone To Watch Over Me, Swanee, and Rhapsody in Blue; Always United, Forever Strong by Brian Balmages; and our traditional closing march, The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa.
